Saturday 68: You’d think…

You’d think that the amount of time I’ve spent on the bike hunting trees they’d cooperate with me a little bit more, but alas, no. While every cherry tree in the country blooms, the ones to which I rode yesterday decided they’d wait until after I put in the effort to do whatever they’re going to do this year.

It’s like the Wonju Beast all over again. Ride out to a tree and have it disappoint.

Still, there’s not such thing as a bad ride, and yesterday was no exception. I’m feeling a bit better as far as my conditioning goes, and I think a little more consistency during the week will help a lot on the longer weekend rides. And I’m going to need it for next weekend, as one of my riding partners reminded me that I was interested in doing a hundred-miler around my birthday. If conditions are right, that century could be coming up earlier in the season than I’d expected.
