Saturday Ride: Fun Fifty-One

Another great Saturday ride in the books. This time, pretty chilly to start — under freezing (-3 C, 30 F) — but I was well-dressed for it, and got to give Joon’s pogies a test run before deciding whether to buy some for my self or not (I’ll be buying some).

Six AM start, feeling a bit stiff, but that got worked out soon enough. A typical slow winter ride. Actually, I’ve been slowing down a lot for a while now. But winters really are slower. I think it’s just harder to move when you’re bundled up and your muscles are chilled.

Since the winds were out of the WNW, a nice little trip to Suwon was in order. We looped through a few of the regular sites, but didn’t spend as much time photographing them. We’ve been there so often we just passed most of them by. Still, I got some nice pictures, and I hope you enjoy them.

A six AM start means a later sunrise.
Still waiting for the actual sun…
I’m always fascinated by the parts market…
Nice find…a pavilion that counts for a stamp on 삼남길.
Outside a restroom
Cutting through Suwon, approaching the north gate of the Hwaseong Fortress.
The inner gate.
My favorite shot of the day.
Almost home — the bridge at the south end of Osan.
Straw bales abound.
