Saturday 38: Four Lakes

I was a bit skeptical at first. I’ve only done a couple of short rides over the past two months, so pressing 40 seemed a bit ambitious. But in the end, going farther and actually succeeding is a far better lesson than just giving up before you’ve started.

And besides, it only ended up being 38 miles (and change). And a great ride, at that.

I’ve called the ride “Four Lakes” for a couple of reasons. First, we passed four lakes. But secondly — it turns out the only thing halfway beautiful enough about Korean winters to photograph are lakes. The rest of the landscape is pretty much brown and grey. So lakes it was today, and I’m happy for it…

First lake is Marine Corps Lake. Been here plenty before, and you should recognize it.
Another view of Marine Corps Lake.
Another lake north of Marine Corps Lake. Scared up the ducks to take a picture of them.
The third lake.
The fourth lake where the expressway crosses it.
Ramyon break — hits the spot in cold weather.
Almost home.
And nothing better than ending the day with a fantastic meal.
So good.
