Do not be intimidated…

I’d heard somewhere that wristwatches just aren’t that popular anymore. With everyone carrying cell phones these days, there’s no longer a need for them.

But I love a good wristwatch. I’ve got a couple that I wear every so often (in addition to my go-to Casio). I would never invest a great deal in one — I’m more practical in that respect. I need something that tells me the time. Not something that tells me the time for several thousand dollars (although I wouldn’t turn down a good watch if anyone wanted to give it to me).

But there’s something beautiful about the workings of a watch and, of course, the Swiss are masters. I love TAG Heuer and Omega and would take them any day over a Rolex (which is also Swiss).

I don’t know how I stumbled upon this guy, but I’m absolutely fascinated by his videos (and voice). I almost feel the tuggings of a call to a hobby like this, but I know I lack the patience. Still, that doesn’t stop me from watching. The watch he’s working on was a gamble that he bought on e-bay. Even when it wasn’t working, it cost quite a bit. But the quality…
