Double-Up: Joy

I know I just put up a playlist song by them yesterday, but Kings Kaleidoscope have some new music out, and I’m fascinated.

I’m always drawn in by the lyrics, but the rhythms they incorporate, along with the classic hymns in some of their songs (like in my favorite, “Naked Feet and Holy Fire” ending with snippets of “Take my Life and Let it Be”) make their work so good overall.

And so, to the new stuff. Only a couple of songs for now, but i’m liking it. I know better than to rush out and buy it though. I have a feeling there’s an entire album on its way, and this is just a taste.

I hope you like it. Joy. Good. And unique in that it’s not often — I’d say never — that you see a song by a Christian group that simply features a man getting a tattoo in the video. And yeah, there’s a hymn in there. See if you can recognize it. I’m pretty sure I recall Granny singing it in The Beverly Hillbillies.
