Well, today I did what I thought was my 40th BCFB of the year. Turned out nice. Looked like a fish. More specifically though, looked like 붕어빵, which I really like on a chilly winter’s day.
I’d been shooting for 40 rides this year. I figure that would be enough. But considering the temp this morning was 72, I think there may be a few more left in the year. The only disappointment is the sunrise – it’s not coming up until I’m home. And this morning looked like it was shaping up to be a beauty. But I’m finishing a full 30 minutes before it comes up, so I’m missing it almost completely, with just a hint in the eastern sky.
Funny thing about shooting for 40 – with that many numbers, you’re bound to miss something. Or maybe you add a day. I did the latter, ending up with two 30s. So this morning was actually my 41st. I figured at about 20-21 miles per ride, I was looking at over 800 miles of BCFBs so far this year.
So I ran the numbers today, and here are the results:
I did 41 rides totaling 846.72 miles. That’s an average of 20.65 miles per ride. My shortest ride was my first, on May 11th. It was only 16.94 miles, and I remember it well because I got a pinch-flat just short of 5 miles into the ride. I changed the tube and got another 12 miles in, but had to get back so I could get to work on time.
My longest ride was 22.69 miles – it was a lap around Metapolis Towers in Dongtan on July 16th. I’m surprised I only did that lap once this year, although the towers were my target on the shortest ride too before it was interrupted by the flat. I’ll probably do it again before I shut down.
I did 10 rides in both June and August, 8 in July, and 6 in May and September. And of course, 1 in October. So far. I rode 12 times each on Tuesday and Thursday, 8 each on Mondays and Wednesdays, and only once on a Friday.
And of course, I got plenty of good pictures. I’ll close with my favorites (including one that I posted along with yesterday’s piece). You’ll see a theme of course, because you just can’t go wrong with water and sky at that time of day…
