I Miscalculated

I don’t know why I keep thinking July has only 30 days.

So I was a little disappointed when I realized I hadn’t completed the August Gran Fondo after all. I mean, I’m not worried that I won’t — I do one every week generally. But I was thinking I was getting a great start to the month.

But then I realized too that I was making a great finish to a great month. Another brilliant 0430 start. Home at 1040! Got over to the other side of the Sabgyoho Seawall and stayed for a while, turning south to the next bridge down. I really want to ride more over there, but it’s 25 miles just to get to the start — 50 miles round trip, which leaves a mere pittance for exploring. And from what I got today, I’ve got to start planning a drive to the ride out there.

Anyway, If you read yesterday’s post, you might remember I thought doing 640 miles in July was pretty good. This would be my third month in a row over 600 (and it still is, but…). Today, I did my typical Saturday 70, and once it sunk in that it was still July, I realized I’d topped 700 for the first time, ending up at 710.6 miles for the month. 70 to get 700 for 7 (Jess — SEVEN!).

Summer of Bob! I tell you.
