The Importance of Numbers

That was a one tough week.  I guess the advantage of living in Korea is that it’s already Friday night here and if some of you read this when you get up, know that I’m well ahead of you.

It started out with pretty much all of last weekend being a complete wash because I wasn’t feeling well.  Then my Tuesday early morning ride that ended in a disastrous double-flat – the last good ride I could take this week because of all of the rain.  And then what I hoped was the “it can’t get any worse” Thursday evening bolt in the tire of my car – a hole big enough they couldn’t patch it. And that’s when I found out I actually have pretty expensive tires.

So what could be worse?

How about getting home from a walk and trying the door of your apartment four times before getting locked out?

So as Micha was asking for the phone to call a locksmith I just went to sit on the steps.  I needed a break just to say “hold on a minute. It really couldn’t get this bad, could it?”

It’s moments like these where all you can do is just sit there and stare at the door…and realize that that “6” sure looks a lot like a “5.”

So I start up the steps and call back for Micha to follow.

“Why?”

“Just come.”

Door on the sixth floor opened on the first try.  Go figure…
