A Strange Fascination

A few days ago I posted this about the dance group Remote Kontrol. I recommend it.

And here I am posting yet another video of them, which is also quite interesting. But I’m posting for a different reason. I find myself drawn to the music. I’ve pretty much liked dubstep when I’ve heard it off and on, but the song with this video really drew me in. It’s fascinating. I’d love it on a playlist for riding.

The artist is Emma Hewitt, and the song is a remix of her song “Rewind.” The original of the song is decent on its own, but the dubstep remix really adds the energy. The energy of dubstep overall seems to be something a bit different. It’s deeper and richer and more powerful. From what I’ve heard in the genre, they really like the punch — that deep pop that’ll basically rattle your core.

Emma Hewitt. Australian. Who knew she looks like a supermodel?

So yeah, it’s electronic. It’s dance music. I couldn’t dance a step if my life depended upon it. But it’s just this strange fascination for me. Sure, watch for the dancing — it’s good stuff. But listen to the music. Preferably with a good set of headphones cranked up sufficiently to get the effect. It moves.
