Such a Beautiful Day

Warm, but not hot. Clear blue skies. Reasonable breezes. It was a beautiful day for a ride. And today I got the best of most worlds. I got to ride to the west of Ch’ilbosan, which is one of my favorite routes, and then, as I was heading home on my intended route to the west of Suwon Air Base, I decided rather to go around the base and come down on the east. But that wasn’t good enough — here I was in Suwon, which is one of my favorite cities, so I had to head across to the other side then turn south to Dongtan.

Well, if I’m in Dongtan, I may as well head over into Dongtan 2…which is another of my favorite areas to ride. And then why not turn a bit more to the east and come home through Namsa. So what started out as a standard 40 – 45 mile ride ends up at 54. Just right.

Such a beautiful day for it.

The streets of Suwon. I love this city.
The trees are in good shape, and their leaves just exploded within the past few weeks. This is a beautiful tree…and yet it’s unprotected.
This tree used to be a bit beat up and uncared for, but they’ve done some work to beautify it and the area around it.
Here’s the thing — I spent the first half of the ride listening to Bob Uecker and Brewer baseball. Amazing that I can be out on the roads of Korea listening to my team.
Hmmm…a “premium butcher.” Will have to go back and check this place out.

Enjoy the ride. I did.
