Follow-up: The Expanse

Amazon has a neat little feature now on Prime video — Korean subtitles on some of their shows. You just have to open up the show and on the title screen there’s a “Languages & more” button. It’s not on all of them, or even most of them, but it’s on plenty enough that you can watch with the Korean. Sound of Metal (which I recommended earlier) had the subtitles. And so does The Expanse.

MIcha and I watched the whole series through — that has to be at least my third time — before we went on to Season 5, which just dropped recently. And I tell you, it’s still as good as ever. This show has not lost a step from start to finish. Many believe it to be the greatest piece of science fiction ever on television. And not just me. Yeah, they still use engine sounds in space, but that’s pretty much standard.

From what I’m reading, Amazon has committed to one more season, and that’ll be it. So they’ve got some loose ends to wrap up, but I think this will be just about right. And once season 6 comes out, I’ll probably watch it all the way through again. It’s just that good.

And of course my recommendation holds.
