Recommendation: Indelible Grace Music

Some years back, a group of musicians formed in Nashville with the purpose of bringing back old hymns through new music.  I’ve listened to a lot of their music and love it.  Now I’ve written about how I dislike contemporary Christian music mainly for its oversimplification and anthemizing of everything.  In CCM, vacuous and repetitive music seems to be the rule and not the exception.

But for those of us who have sung the old hymns, we know the deeper theological foundations on which they’re built. They’re filled with more meaning and self-reflection.  To put them to new music freshens them up beautifully, and the group, which goes by the name “Indelible Grace,” does such a wonderful job.

One of my favorites is from the album The Hymn Sing: Live in Nashville.  I hope you enjoy it.
