Saturday 72: Clockwise Rex

I’ve done the T-Rex before, just a bit over a year ago. But Cody’s leaving, and his wife requested it (he wasn’t riding with us last year), so we went for it. To mix it up, I adjusted the route and did it clockwise. Believe it or not, going the opposite direction does change the ride, not just in minor route adjustments, but especially in the views. We passed through the busy stuff early rather than late (all in the head of the dinosaur), and ended up in the rice paddies and along the rivers later on…when it was hot and boring.

The result was a better T-Rex than last year in my opinion, but we won’t be doing that again. As Joon so rightly complained, the T-Rex is fun the first time, but the second time it’s just pointless wandering, turning in the middle of nowhere for no apparent reason. Still, I enjoyed it. One of the problems (that you’ll see here) though was that it wasn’t much of a day for pictures. Just nothing interesting out there. Still, I tried…

The sky in the morning was kind of a precursor to the lack of picture quality and subject for the rest of the ride.
Flat and green…
…and flat and green. But still pretty.
Bubble portrait with flowers.
…and flat and green…but with bulidings.
Odd and colorful in the middle of nowhere.
Already closing in on home. The backside of base.
Probably the most interesting thing we saw on he way.
Johnny really did have to duck.
Almost home.
Worn out. Cody, Joon, and Johnny.
Hey, it really is a picture of a dinosaur.
T-Rex 2024. Compare to last year (next pic), I think the head is better. He even has teeth.
T-Rex 2023.

Can’t post the video, but here’s the link:
