I don’t know how I stumbled upon Michael Bublé, but I’ve occasionally listened to his stuff over the years. One song in particular takes me somewhere in my memories, back 20 years ago when I took a detour through the Pensacola area coming home to Texas from Alabama. Yeah, if you know your geography, a bit out of the way. But Micha was with me and we were just taking it easy for a couple of days getting back.
The weather was fabulous, the ocean to my left was a beautiful aquamarine, the windows were down and the sunroof was open, and we were listening to Bublé singing the Sinatra classic, Summer Wind. It hit all the right notes in so many ways, and every time I hear it, I’m back there on the Gulf coast in the sun and the breeze, and it’s perfect.
