Saturday 53: Gettin’ Out There

It’s been a while. I’ve done a few jaunts in the 20s and 30s, but I haven’t made a move yet on something more substantial. After broken ribs and a bad knee, I was getting the idea that winter doesn’t like me that much. I can’t blame it. I’ve not been a fan of winter for a while now. But still, that’s no excuse for putting out of action for such a long stretch.

So yesterday I decided to poke around a bit with the guys down along the hills south of Anseong; and it turned out quite nice, although a bit pain-inducing. I guess 53 miles cold — both in temperature and physical conditioning — should bring me to expect it, I still felt like I’d completed a summertime 100-miler when I was done. I’ve got a bit of work to do to get back into shape for it, but there’s no better time than now.

At the lake.
Plenty of water right now.
Buddhist statue buried to the knees.
We still get the occasional need for repair.
Tigger’s faded over the years.
I’m not a fan of riding this.
More than one obstacle on the route.
Never far from a break.
We were all pretty hungry. Nothing like donuts and a fresh cup of coffee.
Share the road…with farmers.
Can’t resist, every time I pass the “Parts” store.
Village art.
New scooter parking a the Samsung factory.

I did something a bit different for Relive. Something I’ve wanted to try for a while. Since it was a 50-miler (-ish), I decided to just take a picture every 5 miles wherever I happened to be. I got the 5-mile shot in (a bit late), and forgot the 10-mile, but made the rest of them pretty nicely. So sure, some of the pics are boring, but then I figured that it’s winter, so not a lot of pretty out there to get.
