Words for Wednesday

Wow. Halfway through a week again already…or am I? I’m having trouble with the maths. Just have to be sure to check out of the hotel on time, go spend the night with the kids, then get to the airport on time Friday morning. I could’ve stuck around an extra day, but I want to get back home as soon as I can.

After the car rental debacle of Sunday, I went back to pick up an economy car from another company on Monday. Except they didn’t have any economy cars when I got there, “How about a ‘small’ pickup truck for the same price?” “Like a Tundra,” he said.

Well, a Jeep Gladiator is nothing like a Tundra (in my opinion), and at first glance, I though it was a joke. An awful looking vehicle if I’ve ever seen one…but maybe not. It was a bit frightening driving it from the airport, being my first time in the car, driving at night, being immediately dumped onto a freeway at 70MPH, but I managed.

I give you…the Jeep Gladiator. Magnificent!

And it’s kind of grown on me. If I had more time, I’d probably play with it a bit to see what it can do. Unfortunately, it’s not to be. I’ll never get the chance to rent one again…and I’m fine with that. But I suppose if I was a full-blown Texan, living in Texas, I might consider it.

I got to see my best friend tonight. It’s wonderful how we can spend years apart and pick up life again together like nothing happened whenever we meet. It’s been a while this time — nearly ten years. But that doesn’t matter. We get along just fine without each other, but life is just so much better when we get to spend some time together. Everyone should have such a friend.

Were we ever this young?
I can’t see it…looks nothing like the previous picture.

One of the problems with traveling is that I tend to not eat very well. I’m trying to temper my eating, but, when you’re meeting old friends and spending time with family, it’s quite impossible. I had part of a burger and some chicken last night with my daughter-in-law and grandson, and tonight, another burger. I’m not too worried though. It’s hard to find good burgers in Korea, so I gotta get ’em while I can here. And I’ll start eating right again once I get back on schedule at home. Looking forward to that as much as to the eating.

Tonight’s dinner…
