I named this ride “32” because I realized two miles into the ride that I hadn’t turned on my Garmin. Thus, what looks like a 30-mile ride actually ended up being 32.
I’ve had so much going on over the past few weeks — both kids and their families in town, several trips to the airport, babysitting a grandson, three days at the hospital — that I really haven’t been able to get out. Throw in a bit of an illness last month, and it’s been draining.
So of course I felt the need to get out at any available opportunity…not that many have been so. But yesterday was the perfect day for it. Not too hot, but not chilly. Air quality passable. Just an overall pleasant day. So I decided to aim for the Korean Folk Village in Yongin. I also decided to go a more westerly route than what I would normally take (the standard route to Seoul, but cutting east just past the lake). I cut through Dongtan and looped around past Kyunghee University’s Suwon campus. Didn’t add much for mileage, but did provide for sights I hadn’t seen in a while.
All good stuff…

The sculpture looks like a mashup of Robocop and Iron Man
