It was a beautiful morning for a ride this morning. I had a mind to do 30 and I finished with over 32. The sky was good, the weather was cool and clear, and the wind wasn’t too strong as to dampen my enthusiasm.
It was another of my wandering routes — a general idea of what I wanted to do, but nothing set in stone. I explored a little, and headed down a newly opened road (they’d been working on it for a few years, so it’s about time). All was going great until I was about three miles from home when I felt what I first thought was a freak sprinkling out of the clear sky, but quickly realized it was sealant spraying out of my front tire. I pulled over, checked it, spun it, and was even getting ready to plug it when it stopped. I probably lost a few pounds of pressure, and would have put in a little more air but for the closeness to home. All told, the incident added about a minute to my ride. This is the beauty of riding tubeless, and even more so, using Silca sealant (and replenisher). I’ll probably do a bit of tire maintenance over the next few days (have to replace some of the sealant I lost), but generally, I’m literally ready to roll right now, having done pretty much nothing.
I also got to experience my typical mixture of surfaces today, as some of my exploring took me down a portion of a trail that was still under construction. I was reminded of why gravel bikes were made for Korea, and how my Giant Revolt is about as good as they get. No regrets.

Wow, great trip. Beautiful photos. Eye goo 🤣🤣🤣.
I actually turned around for that one. I saw “Eye Good” and thought, “I could work with that.”
