Haunting

I’ve discovered (or been reminded of) some of my favorite music by accident. Quite some time ago, I described how I stumbled upon Jenny & Tyler for example. I came upon Josh Garrels in much the same way — picked up a random album that was being offered for free somewhere, then found out how incredible it was.

I’ve got an iPod Nano (an antique by today’s standards, I’m sure). It travels with me just about everywhere, although now I leave it plugged in a bit longer to charge. On occasion, I’ll think I’m in the middle of a podcast and hit “play” to continue, only to find that I wasn’t listening to anything. These cases make for some interesting discoveries. The Nano will play a random song from my library — quite often a song I didn’t even know I had. Last night, I was pleased to hear a Josh Garrels song I hadn’t heard in years.

As I’ve said about Josh Garrels, he has this peace about him and his music. When I wrote about him before, I used the word “haunted.” The sentiment still stands. The song I heard last night — “Over Oceans” — is another beautiful and haunting song. I hope you enjoy it.
