A New Way

It’s late, but I’m up. Because I just got up. Unfortunately — at least, for me — weeknight accidental naps after dinner are not a good thing at all. Lazy Saturday afternoon naps? They’re great! But coming home from work, eating dinner, then zonking on the couch and waking up at 10:40 PM kind of sucks. I’ll have no problem getting back to sleep — it’s just the getting up, brushing the teeth, and dragging myself to bed that’s taking the effort.

But it isn’t entirely out of laziness. It was an early morning for sure. Up at 3 and change, out on the road before 0430. Taking my time getting into work because I knew I’d be working late today. Thinking back on the morning, I’d do that part again. It was a good ride this morning down around Starfield Mall and then back past the South African Air Force Korean War Monument. The monument was one of my first odd discoveries. It’s tucked to the side of the Anseong interchange of the Gyeongbu. It’s also pretty cool, with its statue of a springbok.

Dedicated to the 37 South African Airmen who died in he war

I almost always plan my routes around a target. I’ve got a few regular routes for my BCFBs — HP2HP, Lake Loop, Dongtan Towers. This is my second trip around Starfield. The first time, I headed west and looped home past the Samsung factory. I avoided that today because it’s quite busy when the morning shift comes in. I think the east route works. There’s only so much one can get to in 20 miles or so (this morning’s was 22). Especially when you’re looking for targets.
