I didn’t have anything to write yesterday, so I didn’t. And that’s alright. As a matter of fact, I’ve been pondering a hiatus for a while now. The blog served its purpose — to force myself to write consistently. And I did. Yesterday was only the third day I’ve missed in nearly 22 months (I wrote my first post two years ago yesterday, and committed to daily writing in late June of that year). I have published something here 689 times. Some of it was long and thoughtful. Some of it was short and garbage. Some of it was long and garbage for that matter, I’m sure.
But I’ve really got to start thinking about the next phase. Longer and more thoughtful. Less pressure to throw up junk. Less pressure to publish incomplete thoughts. Taking my time throughout the week to formulate something a little better. I’ve toyed with the idea lately. I think that, regardless of what I do in the future, i’m going to end my attempts to put up something every day. It no longer serves its purpose.
I’ll still put up my bike rides though, and the occasional random thoughts, but my real hope is that I can start cranking out some deeper, more thoughtful pieces. Maybe once a week. And since most anyone (besides the Russians and Chinese that try to hack me regularly) who reads this also knows me on Facebook, as long as I advertise there that I’ve published something here, they shouldn’t be missing anything.
We’ll see…
I’m not on Facebook :<
but then again, I also decided quickly that I didn’t know how I wanted to use my blog, so I’m still thinking that one through lol
i’ll see what i can do for you. you should just write something every day for a year.
That is not a bad idea. I’ll try to commit to it, no promises lol
