Break Time

Took a day off yesterday. So busy – didn’t even feel like mailing it in for the blog. And I’m perfectly alright with that. Things should be settling down again soon – getting back to normal – and I’m looking forward to it. We got a new sofa, and I’m kind of digging it right now. It’s big enough that the both of us can stretch out on it, although Micha should be getting her dream recliner sometime next month. We ordered it last year.

And so now I’m sitting on that sofa with Micha stretched out sleeping on the other end and the pup in her bed on the floor, and I’ve started on my favorite movie, Coco. I love that movie. It’s so bright and colorful and culturally interesting. And to think I first saw it by accident. It was playing in the theaters here and Micha and I were wandering about a mall and felt like a movie. We walked in and picked the first one that would be playing at the time, and it was Coco. I’d never heard of it, but it was a great movie to watch in the theater.

And I watch it just about every chance I get – must’ve seen it about a dozen times so far. And I get this chance tonight because…Micha’s stretched out sleeping on the other end of the sofa. One thing about Micha – she won’t watch a movie twice, so Coco’s got to wait for moments like these.

Got another busy day tomorrow, cleaning up my study. Hope to get a good ride in this weekend, although it might rain. Nothing better than taking the rest of the night off, enjoying the movie, and taking it as easy as I’ve ever taken lately…

We are also looking for a new sofa. The one we have in our living room we got from an estate sale. I love it. The only problem is, the fabric is tweed — not so great with two German Shepherds and all their fur. Ella doesn’t shed, so it didn’t matter when it was just her.

Anyway, we’re planning to move this sofa into the den where the GSDs aren’t allowed. But I’m loathe to buy anything new if I don’t have to, and finding a good, German Shepherd-proof sofa secondhand isn’t going so well.
