Cracked the Code

The timing hasn’t been good for the weekend — things to do on Saturday; low temps, high winds on Sunday; more of the same Monday…but for a small window from 10 to noon. Temps coming up, sun out to start, winds not due to pick up until after 12.

So I got out. And I’m thrilled to announce that I cracked the code. My biggest winter challenge has always been my toes. No matter what I did, the toes would come out like blocks of ice. But I found some hot packs that were supposed to last six hours. Those and a new pair of shoes would get the test today.

And they passed brilliantly. My toes were comfortable all day long, and the shoes were the same.

So simple — over three hours after I started, the packs were still warm.

The sun went missing near the end of the ride which made the day a bit chillier.
But thankfully near the end of the ride. Still, with my warm toes, I was fine.
