Sunday Ride: Really Hit the Spot

Today’s ride came in at 30 miles. It was a bit chilly, but I got the layering right and was unbothered. Last night’s sleep wasn’t the best, and I wasn’t feeling up for much, but I’ve found that these are often the best of days to ride.

And today didn’t disappoint. The sun was shining enough to take the edge off of the chill, and the distance and elevation was just enough to get a decent workout without overdoing it. The air quality actually improved over time, and by the end of the ride — with a well-timed cup of coffee about 10 miles — I was feeling quite good. A great ride, overall, that really hit the spot.

Passed the wavy bridge and KTX tracks not far from home.
And passed the KTX tracks again on the way back.
Temp bridge while they build a new highway.
Looking at the old bridge through the shadow of the new. I’m not a fan of this bridge. Narrow and busy.
The sky, clear and blue. Better than usual.
