It’s getting colder. The rides are getting shorter. But it’s still great to get out.
Today, Joon and I were up for a little climbing. There’s a route that hits a few hills north-northeast of here — a favorite that takes us over the ridge to Yongin — and it’s quite enjoyable. A couple of 16% climbs, but not too much. I actually put together some PRs today.
But that stop at McDonald’s for an Egg McMuffin combo kind of slowed us down. And the stop at the roadside stand for 녹차허떡 did too. And it was worth it.
I met a Korean rider on one of the climbs and learned that they called the route “동용오,” which stands for 동탄, 용인, 오산 (Dongtan, Yongin, Osan). Well, I used the same method to call my ride 오, 동, 용, 평 (송) (오산, 동탄, 용인, 평택 (송탄) (Osan, Dongtan, Yongin, Pyeongtaek (Songtan)). Makes sense to me.
Started quite cold, warmed up along the way. It was a good ride.
