It was a good weekend for Gingkos. Yesterday’s ride to Asan yielded some decent shots of their Gingko Tree Road (although I think it would be even better from today on for a few days). If you’re a fan of trees, it should be high on your list.
But what should be even higher is the Wonju Monster. As you saw last week, I did another ride from Yi-ch’eon to see it. Last year — November 14th — too late. This year — October 30th — too early. So I drove up today, and it turns out about a week into November is just about right. I’ve already got November 5th, 2022 circled on the calendar.
When I got there last week (at about 9 AM), there were only a half-dozen people there for the 20 minutes I spent. Today, we had to park out on the main road and walk in. There had to be a few hundred people there, with more coming and going all the time. And it was well worth the two hour trip (one-way).
I told you the Gingko tree is beautiful when it goes yellow in the fall. This one truly was phenomenal.
