Perfection is Not Expressive

I have dubbed our commissary the epicenter of autotuned music. If you were to follow me through its aisles, you might see me suddenly “dive” for my earbuds. That’s because they’ve fired up yet another awful song by a no-talent “star” and I’ve got to drown it out with something of quality.

So I stumbled upon this video by Adam Neely. I mean, if you want to get my attention, tell me you’re gonna fix Led Zeppelin with autotune. But it turns out, there are quite a few interesting philosophical points he’s making, and I found it fascinating. I could see some parallels to life these days. It’s not necessarily bad, it just…is. And like he says — anyone born after 1985 is used to hearing autotune and not even realizing it anymore.

Their loss, but I guess you can’t lose what you never had…
