Different than the First Time

I don’t remember the Brewers’ first no-hitter. It happened when I was a new dad of just over a month. I was in Korea. Korea back then (April of 1987) was a little more remote. We didn’t have the internet. We didn’t have MLB TV. We lived off-base and probably had a phone by then. But I’m sure I was quite busy.

Today was different. Today I sat down to write after church. I put the game on and watched Corbin Burnes do his usual thing — dominate opposing batters. I think he struck out 7 of the first 9 batters he faced. But the game got more interesting as it went on. It gets that way when you see nothing but 3 up, 3 down for the opponent, inning after inning.

Just a few days ago, I posted about a walk-off grand slam. Now here I am writing about a Brewer no-hitter. It’s a good time to be a Milwaukee fan…
