While I just posted about my main riding playlist, composed entirely of Christian Rap music, I still listen to other artists and genres. And some even when I’m riding.
Some years back, a blogger I follow mentioned a deal (free) on a Christian duo’s album and I picked it up. But I didn’t listen to it. I’ve broken myself of that habit — used to do it with Kindle books all of the time until I found out I had a couple hundred that I hadn’t even read.
So there this album sat on my iPod, unheard for who knows how long. Until I got into my car one day to drive home from a lunch with friends.
My iPod can be quirky at times. It’ll play something randomly, usually because I bumped a button somewhere along the line while it was in my pocket. So here I was in my car and I’m hearing this music through the earbuds hanging around my neck. I just hooked it into the car’s sound system and let it play.
And it was a beautiful song — “Abide” by Jenny & Tyler.
I’ve since picked up more of their music, but nothing lately. A lot of it is good, beautiful, peaceful — with good lyrics. It had been a while since I’d listened. So I put it on again and it was like hearing it new all over again. Good stuff, and of course I recommend it…
