A couple of months ago, I discovered Ryan Van Duzer’s YouTube channel and plowed through just about every video of his bikepacking trips that I could find. One of the first I watched was his trip last year down the Great Divide Trail from the Canadian border to New Mexico. He had to stop at the New Mexico border because of COVID restrictions, but now he’s back at it, starting where he left off in a bid to finish the trail to the Mexican border.
As usual, his exuberance is inspiring. The video has plenty of ups-and-downs (not literally — it all seems “up” literally), and he leaves it at a bit of a cliffhanger. If you’ve watched any of his stuff, this one will be more of the same — an interesting look into the life of an overly-enthusiastic Boulder-native who loves people and the nature he rides through. If you get anything out of it, go see his other work too. It’s all pretty good.
