Detox

Trying something interesting — a green-smoothie detox regimen for 10 days. And it’s not bad. Here’s what I’ll be having tomorrow:

DAY 3: Apple Berry
1 handful spring mix greens
2 handfuls spinach
2 cups water
1½ cups frozen blueberries
1 banana, peeled
1 apple, cored and quartered
1 packet stevia
2 tablespoons ground flaxseeds
OPTIONAL: 1 scoop of protein powder
Place leafy greens and water into blender and blend until mixture is a green
juice-like consistency. Stop blender and add remaining ingredients. Blend until
creamy.

Fill in between meals with snacks — carrots, celery, unsalted raw nuts, Drink lots of water. Got past the splitting caffeine withdrawal headache sometime last night after I went to sleep. Now I’ve been craving just about anything I used to love eating, and they say that’ll last about 4 days. After that, it’s supposed to be good stuff.

While one of the benefits is weight loss, I’m really hoping to adjust my intake to see if anything else changes. So, 8 more days and we’ll see how things come out. So far, pretty rough, but getting better.
