I’d never given much thought to the virtues of a good egg-nog until my sister introduced me its perfect combination with Jameson’s Irish Whiskey. “It’s gotta be Jameson’s,” she told me. “Nothing else tastes as good.”
And so I tried it, and I must say, I’m thankful that egg-nog is a seasonal drink, because if they made it year-round I’d a) probably get sick of it and b) be fifty pounds heavier.
And yet I fear we might have a problem this year. The shelves at the commissary aren’t too bad, but we’re a little light in the dairy section, and all I need is someone deciding that milk and cheese is more important than the nog and prioritizing them on the next boat.
But to get ready, I did make my first stop at the liquor store today, and when the egg-nog arrives, the Jameson’s will be ready. If there’s any left by then…
