Jayoe (Chinese: 加油 (jiāyóu)) means literally to “add fuel,” but it’s the Chinese way of cheering someone on.
It’s also the name of the site run by Matthew Galat, an American who lives in China and who set out a few years back to cycle around the world on a recumbent tricycle. I stumbled upon him quite by accident when I was looking into recumbents. At first I just gave him a glance, but a while later found him again and started to enjoy his style.

Unfortunately, I didn’t really start to follow him until after he travelled the length of South Korea. I would’ve loved to have met him. He seems so interesting.
He did an entire video series of his trip through Korea — 31 total videos. They include so much of what I love about the place. I hope you enjoy them.
