I sometimes think there’s nothing better than a beautiful fall day, when the air is crisp and the sky is a deep, autumn blue. But it is possible to wake up to something even better – a beautiful fall day when the air is crisp and a light rain is falling.
It’s been a good weekend. A Saturday morning perfect for a wonderful, long ride through a couple of secret valleys followed by a trip to one of our favorite country restaurants – past the busy lunch rush, but before they close for a break at three. Hungry but relaxed from the long morning ride and a hot shower.

Then, a drizzly Sunday morning just made for coffee and a book. Church, then the idea to drive to a restaurant at the bottom of a mountain of a popular Buddhist temple for some san-ch’ae bibimbap.

It’s a combination of a few of the things I really like about Korea – the food, the autumn weather, cycling through the countryside. It’s made for a pretty good weekend.
Now if I could only do it every day.
