Today’s Ride: 4 October 2020

Had a very satisfying day today. Haven’t been out for a bit so I wasn’t sure how it’d go, but you just can’t go wrong with an October ride in Korea. I could’ve gotten hit by a truck and I’d be lying in my hospital bed thinking, “that was a great ride.”

And of course when you follow it up with a trip out to a country restaurant for some 삼겹살, you find yourself completely satisfied with the day.

GEAR UPDATE: Took the opportunity to pay close attention to my high-end gearing, knowing that 50-13 would be roughly equivalent to 42-11 (high end on what I’m planning to put on my bike later this month) and I know now I made the 100% right choice. My best gears for cruising seem to be 50-14 or 50-16, so 42-13 should work with 42-11 being my downhill and sprint gear. Might look into tweaking the rear cassette — I’ve got an extra 12 lying around and and I might try to swap it out for the 19 or 21. Looking forward to it even more.
