I didn’t fault her for looking strange. As a matter of fact, that’s what I liked about her.

This was the thought that came to mind when I saw the woman telling me the details of today’s Korean stock market. Odd though. It’s usually the weather girls that are attractive. But this one had a high part in long hair, with interesting eyes that just drew you in. A long neck and an oddly-fitting dress seemed to round out a look that just…held my attention.
And I thought, “there’s something about her.” I should have taken a picture. I didn’t. And maybe I’m glad because I may never see her again. And even if I do, will I see the same woman? Maybe it was the perfect blend of beer and pizza and contentment.
It’s just strange though how some things hit you — moments that form memories that haunt you. And then we could spend the better part of a lifetime trying to get them back in some way, only to find they’re gone. Just gone.
Do we ever know there will come a time when it’s the last? There’ll be a last beer; a last bike ride; a last long drive. And a last time when you see a beautiful woman and think that she’s someone worth looking at. Certainly not to be foolishly pursued or made the stuff of dreams. Never an object of lust. But still worthy of being admired.
Interesting.
