It’s official.

Yup. It’s official. I don’t know what prompted viewers to continue watching Showtime’s Homeland, but the second season bounce I was hoping might happen just didn’t materialize. And it isn’t for poor acting or even dialogue — it’s because the show makes absolutely no sense in following a plot other than “there are terrorists, now let’s make up a bunch of weird stuff around that premise.”

I swear, it’s like a bunch of idiot high-schoolers — and there are smart high-schoolers out there so I truly mean it when I say “idiot” — just sit around making stuff up with no regard for any kind of realism. I’m not so demanding that I would think that every detail has to be perfect. I understand having to write things that may not be entirely realistic but are necessary to move the story. But when the entire show is built on these things, you know that the writers have absolutely no idea what they’re doing. They’re simply a bunch of amateurs that somehow pitched a show that got accepted on its premise, but who had no idea what they were doing when it came to actually writing a believable show.

Honestly, it was awful, and I would think less of anyone who tried to defend it.
