One of the things Micha and I both enjoy is watching HGTV together. Our favorite shows (so far) are Love it or List It and Property Brothers. We binge watch them backwards until they get to a point where Micha thinks it’s no longer of value to watch because the remodels are outdated.
In the course of watching you’ll see that every show has its peculiarities, and it’s really fun to spot them. After watching enough shows long enough, I’m thinking I can come up with a good HGTV “Bingo!” game. You fill your card with key phrases you’ll hear during the shows – “Shiplap,” “Asbestos,” “Popcorn Ceilings,” etc. On the other hand, maybe a drinking game would be even more fun…
But we think that the personalities and styles are even more interesting, and puzzling out the differences between them is fun too – even though I’m sure some of it is made up for the drama.

For example, one of the big differences that I’ve noticed is between Jonathon from Property Brothers and Hilary from Love it or List It. It seems that Jonathon plans for problems in his budget before he makes promises. Hilary just goes ahead and makes the promises. That’s why Hilary, without fail, has to drop at least one thing from the plan every episode.
Maybe that’s another game you could make up with her – “What has to go?” You would play it like this: As soon as the couple gives their list of things that have to be done, you have to call out what Hilary will end up cutting (here’s a tip: if they want a garage, it’s always the garage).
On the other hand, Jonathon seldom has to cut something he’s told people he’s going to do. So, if I were to make a Love it or List It Bingo card, it would definitely include the phrase, “I’m not going to be able to…” by Hilary for sure. On the other hand, a Property Brothers Bingo card would have to have “It’s in the budget.”

I’ve got to expand my viewing to come up with other ideas, but I think I’ve got enough for a start. We went as far back as 2015 with Love it or List It, but I figure I’ve still got another two seasons of Property Brothers before Micha’s done with it.
Any suggestions?
